Livvy Dunne isn't done yet at LSU.
On Monday, the LSU gymnastics star announced she is staying in Baton Rouge for a fifth and final season. The announcement came in a hype video released by LSU's gymnastics program on X (formerly Twitter).
"Dear LSU, these past four years have changed my life. There's something about putting on a purple and gold leotard. There's something about competing in front of 13,000 screaming Tiger fans. There's something about being pushed by your coaches to be your very best. And there's something about being part of a team that made school history," Dunne said in the video.
"And no matter how many opportunities come my way off the mat, there's just something about LSU. And that's why I'm here to say, 'I'm not Dunne yet.' Here’s to Year 5, baby."
Dunne competed in nine meets this past season for the Tigers, where she recorded a career-high score of 9.900 on the floor at both the Podium Challenge and the NCAA Fayetteville Regional second round. The gymnast and social media influencer helped the Tigers to the program's first NCAA national championship title this past year as LSU topped California, Utah and Florida in the final round with a score of 198.225.
In a recent interview with the New York Post prior to her announcement Monday, Dunne said she had been contemplating continuing her career at LSU. In that same interview, she also ruled out a potential run at the Olympic stage with Team USA.
“I don’t think I’m going to try for the Olympics or anything after, since I once competed for Team USA and I closed that chapter and went to LSU,” Dunne told The Post.
Prior to her arrival at LSU in 2021, Dunne competed in the 2017 U.S. Classic for Team USA, where she finished fifth in the individual all-around event and sixth in both the floor and high beam events.
Dunne is the girlfriend of former LSU baseball and now-Pittsburgh Pirates star pitcher Paul Skenes, who was selected to his first MLB All-Star Game on Sunday.
